AFTER YOU BY JOJO MOYES

”But that’s just a fairy-tale ending, isn’t it? Man dies, everyone learns something, moves on, creates something wonderful out of his death.”

Welcome back my favourite readers!!!
I hope you're all doing great and I am back with another reading-post.
Today I'll be talking to you about the book After you by Jojo Moyes.

It's basicaly the sequel book to Me before you and I loved it. So many people loved Lou from Me Before You and wanted to know what happened to her after the book ended. Then, when they are given a book that tells them what happened, they automatically compare it to the first one that they loved and realize that it falls short. These people are disappointed in the story because they expect the greatness of Me Before You to continue. This book, however, is not Me Before You.

Let me give you a summary of the book. Louisa Clark is no longer just an ordinary girl living an ordinary life. After the transformative six months spent with Will Traynor, she is struggling without him. When an extraordinary accident forces Lou to return home to her family, she can’t help but feel she’s right back where she started.

I thought this story was very well done. It showed Lou's struggle with moving on after Will's death. It showed how his death affected other characters and how people struggled to relate following such a tragedy. I still love Lou's character and there are other character's in this book that I really enjoyed - Sam, Donna, Jake and mostly Lilly.

I am truly glad that Jojo Moyes, the author, decided to write this sequel, since while Me Before You has a proper closure and you could be totally satisfied there, well, life doesn’t have “endings” like the books, and certainly while Will Traynor’s storyline ends there, Louisa Clark have a whole life in front of her and it was thrilling to know how was it, without having to guess.

And also, not only Louisa, but the entire Clark Family, the Traynor Family and even other characters like Patrick and Nathan. All those support characters that you learned to love or hate, all depending of your very personal point of view, all of them, their lives carry on too, and you’ll know what happened with each of them.

And you can trust that Louisa Clark’s life is like her clothing…

…anything but boring!

In addition to my review , the attempt at social-issue appeal was an alarmingly outdated subplot on a housewife’s introduction to basic feminism that bordered on circus sideshow in sheer goofiness. Also, some heavy-handed looks at, like, violence? Maybe gangs? I think I liked what may have been a soon-removed effort to discuss mental illness.

There set of secondary characters added a whole new flavor to this novel. The Moving On Circle was a breath of fresh air! Daphne, William, Natasha, Fred, Marc and Jake each complemented the story with their own journey toward recovery. I enjoyed their therapy sessions that revealed their insecurities, fears and hopes. It was all so serious, yet shared with a level of brevity that kept the story flowing with ease.

There were moments and passages in this story that truly hit me hard. JoJo Moyes clearly has a skillful way of cutting to the core of her readers’ emotional pockets with quick punches that leave you breathless for air. After You had many of those moments of brilliance. Overall, I believe fans of Me Before You will enjoy journeying with Louisa Clark as she learns to fall in love and believe in herself again. Beautiful… absolutely beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed today's review as much as I enjoyed reading this captivative book froma brilliant writer with a sweet and romantic imagination .

With love,

MY FIRST INTERVIEW WITH A BOOKSTAGRAMMER !!!

Hi everyone and welcome back to the blog !!!

In today's post, I have something completely different for all of you. I have done my first interview with someone and I'm so happy!

Things started when I was thinking of doing something about bookstagramm which is accounts on Instagram that only revolve specifically around books and generally reading stuff.

I started noticing this community three years ago and I was thrilled with the content people were creating around the internet. Creativeness could be seen every single picture and I could never imagine that a book can be even more beautiful and magical throughout pictures.

I began to follow so many accounts that I lost track at some time! Can you imagine?

One of the first account I came across and it's still on my top five list was the account of a young girl with a creative mind called Jill. The account is called booknerd_reads and is everything a book lover could ask for in a photo. There is always something meaningful behind and plus the editing skills are on point!

So when I decided to write to her and ask her to do an interview, imagine how over the moon I was when she said YES !!! So after the backstory, I gave you, let's dive into the interview.

Jill, how long have you been bookstagramming, what gave you the idea to start and when were you introduced to this "trend "?

I have been on bookstagramming since August 2014! In 2013 I created a fandom Instagram account and so I naturally I stumbled upon some actual book photography accounts and I thought "Why not ?".

Nice! Moving on , what's the best and worst parts of doing book photography on Instagram?

Best parts would be the wonderful friends and people I've met online, being able to express myself and identity, and strengthening my editing as wells as my photography skills. From the other hand, the "worst part " is the social pressure to always be aesthetic and having to constantly create new innovative content.

I can totally get you on that! What is the main thing you want your followers to take away when they see your posts ?

As much as Instagram is about appreciating photography and creativity, I want my followers to feel like they can know me despite the fact that we're online.

That's so sweet! How did you come up with your username ?

Actually, I went through several names ! My old fandom was bookobsessed_14 so that's kinda where the name comes from ! And I wanted to call myself jillreads but I didn't like so I replaced it.

Can you give me the insights of this photo ?

I just love the look of paperback covers pushed back! I love hearing why people love to read because every response is unique and yet so similar.

Now let's do some bookish questions ! What's your favourite genre ?

I read mostly young adult, and within that is contemporary, romance, fantasy and science fiction.

Who is your favourite author ?

Probably Sandhya Menon, not only do I love her novels but she interacts with her readers on Twitter and I'm even mentioned in her acknowledgements of her book " From Twinkle With Love".

That's awesome! What are the top three characteristics you look into. a good book and what motivates you to keep posting ?

In a good book I look for dynamic , diverse characters , good writing and a pretty cover if possible ! What keeps me motivated is obviously my followers !! They're so kind and always leave wonderful comments , plus I love the community in generala and it's hard to imagine stepping away .

What is one piece of advise you wished you had before starting ?

I wish I'd known how much my account would grow in these few years! When I made my account it was on a whim and just for fun but now it's a passion of mine.

Top three books right now ?

Well, I really enjoyed the last few books I've read which are Smoke in the Sun and Our Voices Our Stories !

Those are pretty good ! Now some this or that !

Ice cream or cake?
Cake!

Fiction or Non-fiction?
Definitely fiction !

Tragic or happy ending ?
Happy!

Epic novel or short story?
Epic Novel !

If you could grab a plane and visit any imaginary place or country from a book where would it be ?

Always Hogwarts ! My dream school!

What are three books everyone should read before they die ?

Oh ! Definitely The Hate U Give , anything by Jane Austen and Harry Potter.

True. And my last question, what's the best tip for someone who is now starting bookstagramming and do you believe that hashtags help ?

Yes! Sure! I include the most popular hashtags. As for general tips , I recommend not only making a feed which works for you , but let yourself explore and your photography will grow with you . Also don't get too caught up in the numbers ! You won't get all of the likes right away, be patient , express yourself , interact with others, and the followers will come! Oh and any camera works, don't feel pressured topurchase an expensive camera. A good phone camera works just as well !!!

Well, my readers, that was my first interview and I hope you enjoyed reading just as much as I enjoyed doing it ! Again I want to say a huge thank you to Jill for agreeing to help .
Make sure to check her Instagram accound as well as her blog .

BOOK JAR , Η ΛΥΣΗ ΓΙΑ ΟΛΟΥΣ ΤΟΥΣ ΒΙΒΛΙΟΦΙΛΟΥΣ

Τι κάνεις όταν δεν ξέρεις ποιο θα είναι το επόμενο βιβλίο που θα διαβάσεις ;

STAY HYDRADED AND READ BOOK !!!

Υ.Γ Μην ξεχάσετε να ρίξετε ένα βλέφαρο στην σελίδα του μπλογκ , στο Facebook.
